Balancing Ritual
Oftentimes we live in extremes: feast or famine, lazy and overachieving, even overeating yet trying to diet. There are so many ways we find ourselves out of alignment, finding it difficult to exist in some middle-ground. While I was searching for that sweet spot, I created this ritual with the intention to restore a sense of balance within myself, my chakras and my subtle bodies.
Some things to consider before doing a ritual, are why you are doing it and what you want to get from it. These are all symptoms of imbalance and misalignment:
Mental imbalances: Scarcity mindset, complacency, stagnation and burnout
Emotional imbalances: Guilt, shame, codependency and avoiding conflict
Physical imbalances/ailments: circulatory issues, respiratory issues, pain and/or inflammation, specifically in the upper back/shoulders/neck
Spiritual imbalances: Questioning your purpose, lost in problems of another thereby avoiding your own, difficulty giving and receiving
You may feel some or none at all and that is ok. The most important thing is your intention and intuition. Only you know you well enough to decide what is best for you in any given moment. This ritual can be use for a deep healing whether you experience heartache or simply you want to feel my love in the world.
The Magic:
Incense Cedar smudge - cedar has been known to embody a powerful, ancient spiritual energy. In some traditions it is said that burning incense cedar can carry out prayers to the heavens and drive out negative energy. Burn cedar smudges for purification, attracting positive energy, and feelings of balance.
Green Aventurine crystal necklace - The crystal represents prosperity, diffuses negative situations, promotes compassion and empathy, encourages perseverance, stabilizes one state of mind, it sees alternatives and possibilities especially those presented by other people, it dissolves anger and irritation, stimulates emotional recovery and enables living within one’s own heart. It is a harmonizer and heart healer bringing well-being and calm
Breathwork - The respiratory system corresponds to the heart chakra so if doing breath work that is calming, we are able to connect more deeply to the heart chakra.
The heart chakra - The heart chakra exists in the center of your chest cavity and extends through the arms into the palms of the hands. In the palms of the hands there are minor chakras as well.
Intention - The Magic lies within us. The way to get the most potent experience out of this ritual it’s to infuse every action, every moment with your intentions. The Universe speaks in love, gratitude and abundance. So the more you offer love and gratitude, the more you’ll have to love and be grateful for.
The Ritual:
Burn the smudge with the intention to cleanse your space and yourself of any negative or distracting energies
Close your eyes, come to a comfortable seat or position that feels true and right for you in this moment
Drop into the breath. Breathe in through the nose 4 seconds, hold 2 seconds, breathe out the mouth 4 seconds, hold 2 seconds. Do this 7 times.
From this space, intuitively write 3 lists. Try to limit your time to 90 seconds per list so that the logical mind doesn’t take over.
List “i love…” and “i forgive…” and “i’m grateful for…”
From these lists, create personal affirmation/mantra. You can create multiple mantras if you're called to do so, but for this ritual, choose the one that speaks to you the most in this moment. Write down your mantra.
Think of a time/event/person you want to send love, forgiveness or gratitude to.
Heart chakra extends into the arms and hands. There are 2 minor chakras in the palms of your hands. Awaken hand chakras by rubbing together. Create a ball of energy between the palms.
When you feel the warmth, place hands on heart, feeling warmth resonate between your hands and your heart chakra.
Hold hands over chest and repeat mantra aloud or in heart 7 times while keeping the time/event/person in your thoughts.
Send that warmth and love to the time/event/person. Sit in this space for as long as you need.
When you’re done, close your eyes once more, and offer gratitude to the universe/divine source for collaborating with you during this heart healing ritual.
